In a letter dated August 2026, Bella’s lawyers alleged that she suffered a series of “well documented” physical assaults, verbal abuse, emotional and psychological torture, including an alleged attempt to kill her through asphyxiation.
The lawyers claimed that Sheggz assaulted Bella in October 2023, locked her inside his house and prevented her from leaving.
They cited a message Bella allegedly sent to Sheggz’s mother at the time, pleading: “Mum please call Shegzz to let me go home, I want to go home, I’ve been disrespected enough.”
The lawyers further alleged that Bella expressed fear over threats by Sheggz to kill her and repeated incidents of strangulation in conversations documented in November 2025.
On the financial dispute between the former couple, the letter cited a February 2024 message from Bella which read: “You are hanging up on me ontop my own money again.”
Sheggz allegedly responded: “I’ll pay you as soon as I have the money honestly and thank you for helping me out when I was tight.”
Bella’s lawyers also claimed that Sheggz repeatedly promised to marry her. In a May 2024 message allegedly sent by him, he wrote: “Then marriage. See my wife, the whole world will be on fire.”
According to the demand letter, Bella is seeking ₦19.826 million and £10,237, as well as ₦500 million in damages for breach of promise to marry and ₦2 billion for physical, emotional and psychological trauma.
She is also demanding the retraction of allegedly defamatory publications, the removal of her pictures from Sheggz’s social media platforms and a public apology.
Her lawyers reportedly gave Sheggz three days to comply with the demands, warning that failure to do so would result in legal action and an additional claim of ₦5 billion in exemplary and aggravated damages.
